Engineering Consultations

The initial step along the path to a greener future starts with a consultation with one of our energy engineers. They have a wealth of knowledge in the alternative energy field and will help you understand what is required in order to satisfy your needs and suggest solutions to start your greener future powered by Suburban Power.

SSEG Applications
Installing solar panels, electrolysers or wind turbines results in the property becoming a small-scale embedded generator (SSEG). If it is not an off-grid installation, the local authority (Municipality) will require you to apply for such an installation and get approval.
Suburban Power is in a position to handle this entire process including the Professional Engineering sign-off in order to get your system approved by the local authority.

SSEG Installations
Suburban Power ensures our installations are done with the highest attention to detail and are compliant with the relevant standards and codes applicable to SSEG installations in South Africa.
We offer our services within the residential and commercial alternative energy fields.

Monitoring & Control
Once the installation of a SSEG is complete, the monitoring and control of these systems are crucial to their efficient operation. Our energy engineers will continuously analyse the system's energy usage in order to maximise the renewable energy fraction of your system whilst taking into account other factors such as grid outages and financial parameters. We offer this as a free service for the first year of operation and this service can be extended at an additional cost.

Maintenance
Given our knowledge and expertise within this field, we are happy to offer maintenance of SSEG installations to our clients. Maintenance of such systems require the right tests to be conducted and cleaning devices used to ensure the systems are running optimally and are not damaged during the maintenance procedure.

Performance &
Efficiency Monitoring
Our engineering team has completed training with the Institute Of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA) and is well equipped and ready to help monitor and improve your energy usage and efficiencies of your operation.
We are also able to assist building owners in getting their Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). Suburban Power has their own in house Energy Performance Practitioner who is able to assist building owners in getting their EPCs before the deadline in 2025 and beyond.
